She Can Stay My Home
Words and music by Steve Goodman
She can stay my home
and I'll invitate her family.
She shouldn't say to me that I only want her language skills--no!
She can stay my home
and I'll show her old town Izmir:
Turkey town, four million people,
near the sea, old history.
I was born in Rogers Park in northern Chicago Illinois,
With dreams of greatness in my eyes like stars so bright on Lake Shore
Drive.
My day arrived and I left home to try to find my way.
With no one I coudl follow I felt so lonely.
The days grew long and short and turned to years and left me searching.
Sometimes I felt that I was destined for obscurity.
One day I was searching for the secret that I could not see,
And then I found it in the words of a man from Turkey, he said:
She can stay my home
and I'll invitate her family.
She shouldn't say to me that I only want her language skills--no!
She can stay my home
and I'll show her old town Izmir:
Turkey town, four million people,
near the sea, old history.
I found my hero, and he lives on the Aegean sea.
His tall is 1.84 cm, 6 2 feet.
He lives alone, his eyes are green, he have a car and home.
And just like me, his weight 78kg.
And he welcomes me so enthusiastically.
He kiss me, he kiss you,
Oh, but so respectfully.
And he like travel he go every year 3-4 country.
He went Netherland, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, and Hungary,
Sweden, Macedonia, Romania, and Germany,
Yeah!
I found my home, and it's a pretty page on the Internet.
With pictures of me and lists of my hobbies and my interests.
I'm just like Mahir because I like so many things.
But he taught me best the golden rule of hospitality.
He said:
She can stay my home
and I'll invitate her family.
She shouldn't say to me that I only want her language skills--no!
She can stay my home
and I'll show her old town Izmir:
Turkey town, four million people,
near the sea, old history.
